Alternate History - Republic of the Virgin Islands by Regicollis Alternate History - Republic of the Virgin Islands by Regicollis
Danish West India gained independence in 1977 as the Republic of the Virgin Islands. Today the small island republic is known as a favourite destination for cruise ships - and infamous for its lax tax laws.

The three stars in the blue triangle symbolizes the three main islands of St Thomas, St. John and St. Croix in the Caribbean Ocean. The white and red colours symbolizes the former colonial power of Denmark.

Does the territory of the Republic constitute the entirety of the Virgin Islands, or just what the USVI does in OTL?

Just what the USVI does in OTL. The British still keep on to their possessions.

I've been to St. Croix! :XD: This would be awesome. What's its relationship with the US like?

The relationship with USA would be good although periodically tensions would arise over the Virgin Islands' complicity in tax fraud.
