An American Monarchy - Coat of arms by Regicollis An American Monarchy - Coat of arms by Regicollis
What if the United States had been a monarchy instead of a republic? The concept is not completely outlandish. After all monarchy was the default form of government back when the United States seceded from British rule. There was also plans to offer the Prussian prince Henry the throne.

Had the continental congress elected a king the title is not unlikely to have been changed to emperor, once the nation grew westwards.

This is how a coat of arms of an American Empire could have looked like.

It's not that far off the mark. I have a pet theory about agreements made after WWII. I won't get right now. But it's based on some historians & scholars research. All wanted to add is that... Although it's not a Monarchy it obviously clear its a very much so an Oligarchy. Right now an estimated that of the roughly 340 million + or - a million or two, five whatever... A minority of apoxemently 1/10th of a 1% control as much or more than the rest of the majority❗️And if that isn't disturbing enough, it's recently been estimated that approximately 800 people around the world hold more a$$ets than the rest of the 7 billion 7 billion and growing far to fast on the planer... Insanity pure insanity.

An American two-headed eagle?

That's an insult to the Russian people! We shall Crimea you in due course.

That was a joke.

You do know that "the two headed eagle" was widely used in europe on the 17th-20th century?

The amount of detail on this is amazing! Would it be possible for me to implement this design onto a t-shirt for my team?

I really wish there was a large Monarchist movement in the US like there is in the UK and France.
RedAmerican1945 Featured By Owner Oct 13, 2015
Well considering our revolution was against the british monarchy, and that George Washington turned down being king I see it as quite the impossibility.
EdenianPrince Featured By Owner Oct 13, 2015
I'm sure you're right!
RedAmerican1945 Featured By Owner Oct 13, 2015
Well that's just the history. Still a very well done Alt History emblem.

I agree ! :)

After seeing this, your other American Monarchy stuff, and the vintage-style world map you have for sale, I was wondering: would you be interested in doing an alt-history world map set just after WW2 in the scenario with an American Empire ruled by a Prussian dynasty? If so, what would your commission rate be?
rasnow94 Featured By Owner Feb 3, 2015
This is simply fantastic. Would it be out of the question if I used this emblem on a flag I have been working on?

Do you think the British should be a Republic?

I like our Queen but she doesn't really run the country anymore. :P

It looks too Russian w/ the two headed eagle.
DastardlyGifts Featured By Owner Dec 27, 2014
The two headed eagle stands for power over the nation and religion. It was first used in the Byzantine empire, and then by Prussia and other nations in the area. It technically has nothing in it that means Russia.

Well maybe you want your work to be protected but I'm going ask you for the coat of arms is .SVG file.
I don't expect you grant me such a thing but I want you to know after that I'll give you the credits.
Please Consider, Thank you! :)

T me to think about that DLC of Assasin´s creed 3 in which Wasgintong becomes a king
Jaglion Featured By Owner Sep 22, 2014
Good idea but why do you use a two-head eagle? It is a Russian and Byzantine symbol.
Supreme-Commissar Featured By Owner Oct 4, 2014  Hobbyist General Artist
Because the double-headed national eagle is an imperial symbol.
I salute you! United States of America I salute you!

Why the hell would they choose a double-headed eagle?:D (Big Grin)
Dadeleous Featured By Owner Apr 15, 2014
The double headed eagle you see there is the same one on the old Russian flag, before the communist uprising when they killed Czar Nicholas the 2nd and established a communist government with Vladimir Lenning.
pytko3 Featured By Owner Apr 15, 2014
My question is why would the Americans take it, rather than invent their own?  I thought the double headed eagle was from the Austro-Hungarian empire?Sherlock Holmes
RabbanSymeon Featured By Owner May 17, 2014
Actually the origin of the double-headed eagle is found in Byzantine Greece and later adapted by Serbs & Russians by monarchical marriage or ecclesiastical relations. From these three its use spread. Typically identified with countries that are Orthodox Christian before the 20th Century.

Drop dead gorgeous coat of arms.  Been independent reading for constitutional law and reading up about other countries constitutions, apparently Alexander Hamilton proposed making the American Head of State a position for life, so an American monarch or someone with similar power isn't that impossible.
aruon Featured By Owner Nov 18, 2013

ah, another paradoxian! do you mind if I use some of your CoA's as materials for flags I ever think of making?

oh, the tyranny of king Washington.

Regicollis Featured By Owner Nov 19, 2013
Feel free to use my work as long as you credit me :)

I would also be happy to see the results once you are done.
joriandrake Featured By Owner Oct 30, 2013
I don't usually comment but seeing this I have to say I love it. Great idea with great details in the art. Seems like there is some circular shading layer in the middle of the shield for some reason though that looks off, and maybe adding one or three stars on the blue of the shield itself might have a better visual result.

All in all, I would probably like to play some Paradox games with this Coat of Arms or flag for a monarch of America.
